Always meet for the first few dates in public, well-lit places with other people around. Tell a friend or family member where you're going.

Never get into a vehicle with someone you don't know well. Drive yourself or use a ride-sharing service.

If something feels off, end the conversation or date. Block and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

Be wary of profiles with only one photo, stock photos, or profiles that seem too good to be true. Report suspicious accounts.

Never send money or gift cards to someone you've only met online, regardless of their story.
